Our work is to build a place that supports family in all its forms, and where all children feel challenged, capable and irreplaceable. Our days consist of learning through open-ended play and functional tasks such as cooking, building and gardening alongside attentive, caring adults. We believe that a child is never too young to be an important member of a community. That they should be valued and listened to. That they should be tasked with work that matters.
We are committed to making our programs accessible to people of all cultural and economic backgrounds, gender expressions, abilities and life choices. This commitment stems from our belief that this is a just and equitable way to organize a school, and that a diversity of life experiences within a learning community is necessary for a meaningful education.
Because Catskill Wheelhouse is committed to financial accessibility for all families fees are determined on a sliding scale based on family income. Your donations make our work possible!
