It’s a fabulous line up for our Saturday Family Arts Program! There’s something for the whole family with offerings by four of our talented local artists.
For children 5 & under: Nature as Inspiration with Ngonda Badilla
***Please note: children under the age of 3 must have a caregiver in the room with them. Children between the ages of 3-5 may attend with a caregiver on site, but who may be participating in our Adult Caregiver workshop.
Using nature and natural materials to inspire creativity, this workshop will cultivate connection with the natural world. Children will use their senses to adventure in our forest and meadow spaces, then explore their own artistic expression through natural materials.
For children ages 5-10(ish): Creative Fusion Movement with Anna Mayta
Explore the world of movement! This lively creative multicultural movement class introduces children to the basic dance concepts such as rhythm, space, and bodily awareness. Props, and a diverse, traditional music selections are incorporated into the class. Plus multicultural emphasis in learning about different dance styles such as Flamenco, Classical Indian, Modern, Latin, and African.
For youth ages 10 - 19 (ish): Videography with Ryan Balas
In this workshop, youth will be introduced to some basic videography techniques that can contribute to visual storytelling.
For adult caregivers: Photography with Hillary Baack
The multi-talented Hillary Baack will guide participants in cultivating their photographic eye, and introduce techniques for framing portraiture, still lifes, or other subjects, following participants’ interests. Basic photo editing skills will also be shared. Participants will use their humble phone cameras to learn techniques for beautiful photography.
